COMMENCING THURSDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER AND CONTINUING EVERY FOURTH THURSDAY OF THE MONTH AT METTINGHAM VILLAGE HALL, NEAR BUNGAY. NO BOOKING REQUIRED.

COME and look and learn about faces from Ancient Rome through the Middle Ages to the Present at this delightful village hall with lovely garden. Two hours, with a refreshment break in the middle.

WE WILL BE LOOKING AT AN ARRAY OF INTRIGUING PORTRAITS OF INTERESTING SITTERS, INCLUDING WRITERS, PHILOSOPHERS, POLITICAL LEADERS, POETS, HUMANITARIANS AND SCIENTISTS. (THERE WON’T BE MUCH EMPHASIS ON STATE PORTRAITURE). WE WILL BE LOOKING AT CULTURAL, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL BACKGROUND TO PUT THE WORKS IN CONTEXT AS WELL AS THE DEVELOPMENT OF STYLE.
